The annual Art Haat Festival of Arts Acre for 2017 commenced on 5th November and this year an "Indo-German Art Festival" is organised to span the entire length of 10 days. Dignitaries like Mr. Dhritiman Chatterjee, the founder and father of Arts Acre Shuvaprasanna, the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Kolkata, Dr. Michael Feiner, and artist Mr. Philipp Grieb were present at the inaugural press conference.

"Saturday evening marked the beginning of a four day long Indo-German Art Festival. It was inaugurated by actor Mr. Dhritiman Chatterjee in presence of other dignitaries including the founder and father of Arts Acre
Shuvaprasanna, the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Kolkata, Dr. Michael Feiner, and artists from Germany and India.
The Arts Acre Campus is presenting a total of 70 stalls at this event and - most prominent - an exhibition showing works of the guest artists from Germany.
We met with Philipp Grieb, an eminent artist from Munich, Germany and talked at lengths about how he liked the exhibits from Kolkata. He also shared with us how the Indo-German Art Festival was a exciting
experience for him and how he was enjoying each moment he spent here. He enjoyed the workshop in the Arts Acre studios, where in a span of just six days he worked on three different paintings.
Philipp made a special mention of how he appreciated the screening of a documentary film directed by Goutam Ghose on the great shehnai artisan Ustad Bismillah Khan. ..."

Arts Acre, Rajarhat hosted the Indo-German Art Festival which was scheduled from 5th to 12th November. Guest artists from Germany brought in art works from their homeland and art works created during workshops, and presented them in an exhibition. The week was also lined up with discussions and talks from eminent artists from Germany and India.
